Dakine Presents the Poney Session 2014
The biggest snowboard contest in France went off this past weekend in the picturesque village of Saint Lary-Soulan, one of the largest ski resorts in the French Pyrenees and home of Victor De Le Rue. The Poney Session has been gathering momentum since 2002, and now that the Euro X Games has threw in the towel Le Poney is the largest annual Snowboarding event in France. Riders from all over the Alpes and Scandinavia turned up for the TTR 4 star event, with 14k prize money.
Petja Piironen took home the win. The finalists got 4 runs and best one counted.
The course was built up at the Saint-Lary Soulan high above the French Pyrenees. Included a rail plaza at the top, and a double jump line.

The Poney Session also included a couple “Tricks for Cash” sessions on the rail plaza features. Throw down something sick and pick up a crispy Euro note on the lift ride up.
I teamed up with Dakine riders Ozzy Henning, Sawyer Dean, and Dakine’s Scotty ‘Diesel’ Conerly for the trip across the Atlantic, which conveniently was booked through Barcelona, Spain with a couple days to roll around one of the most famous skate cities in the world. Straight off the plane we skated the streets hitting spots left right and center. More on that to come soon, we filmed a video and documented our Skate/Snow trip through Spain to the French Pyrenees, and we will post that with the story once the video is ready.
Thank you Scotty, Dakine, and the whole Poney Session crew for showing us a great time.
