Park City, Utah – On Saturday, February 22, 2003, the world’s best snowboarders will return to the scene of the USA Olympic medals sweep. An international field of athletes representing Finland, Switzerland, Germany, Norway, Canada, France, Australia and the USA will take on the Olympic Eagle Superpipe in pursuit of a $90,000 cash purse.

Competitors include Olympic medalists Ross Powers, Kelly Clark and J.J. Thomas, Winter X Games champion Gretchen Bleiler, US Snowboarding Grand Prix champion Hanna Teter, European Open champion Natasza Zurek, FIS points leader Andy Finch and many more. FREE admission, exhibitions, sponsor village, music, BBQ and beer garden complement this world-class competition.

Prize money will be awarded to men’s and women’s snowboarding on Saturday. Winnings will be equally divided offering $15,000 for 1st place, $8,000 for 2nd place, $4,000 for 3rd place, $2,000 for 4th place and $1,000 for 5th place.

National broadcast syndication for the World Superpipe Championships is provided by Jalbert Productions. Distribution of the one-hour special will kick-off in October 2003 including air dates on 110 USA broadcast markets, 48 of the top 50 markets and 70% of the local market.
