Northwave is proud to welcome Roby Demetz as international sales manager for Northwave Snowboard Boots, Drake Bindings and Bakoda snowboard accessories. Roby joins the Northwave family after years of experience in the wintersports industry both in Europe and the U.S.
Most recently, Roby has been a freelance marketing and sales consultant for several companies in Italy and Austria. With an academic background in business administration, marketing, international affairs and resort management from Instituto Europeo in Milan and Sierra Nevada College in Lake Tahoe, Nevada, Demetz has held marketing and brand management positions at Nordica, Kastle (Benetton Sportsystem) and Volkl, as well as experience at Tecnica, Atomic and San Marco.

Northwave North America is a wholly owned subsidiary of Montebelluna, Italy-based Piva SRL. The US headquarters in Seattle, houses the North American sales, marketing and shipping operations for the Northwave, Drake and Bakoda brands. Northwave has been making superior-performance snowboard boots since 1992. It naturally evolved into the bindings market with the acquisition of Drake Bindings in 1997. In October, 1999, Northwave North America purchased the manufacturer Bakoda, maker of high-quality snowboard accessories.
