Truckee/Lake Tahoe, CA — Northstar-at-Tahoe has announced that SnowBomb.com will sponsor its terrain parks and superpipe. SnowBomb.com brings several years of experience in terrain park and superpipe sponsorship. For the last three years SnowBomb has dedicated its promotional budget to helping progress the sport of freestyle skiing and snowboarding. SnowBomb is also sponsor of the Tahoe region’s biggest professional and amateur ski and snowboard series, the Sick and Twisted Big Air Festival, with nine events at five Tahoe resorts.

For the upcoming winter, Northstar plans to relocate its superpipe and increase it in length by 20 percent. The new superpipe will be 400 feet long and located on Lower Drop Off. The new location will allow views of the action from the deck of Northstar’s mid-mountain lodge. The resort also plans to add an additional jib park to The Straits, a run just above Drop Off. The superpipe, jib park, and terrain on Pinball will now be accessible via the Vista high-speed quad chair.

The relocated superpipe will have increased snowmaking and a new sound system for music. With the addition of two new snowguns and the re-positioning of two others, Northstar plans to have its superpipe and halfpipe open by Christmas (temperatures permitting).

Northstar-at-Tahoe is highly noted among Tahoe resorts for its freestyle terrain parks, halfpipe, superpipe, and Paw Parks, which are pint-sized freestyle terrain features just for kids. Northstar has also recently opened a snowskate park, with features including an assortment of slides and jibs like picnic tables, benches and rails. Among the accolades Northstar has received for its terrain parks includes a mention in Skiing Magazine on a list of 10 “Top Park Picks” by expert terrain park designer Chris Gunnarson. Northstar is also perennially recognized by SKI Magazine for its excellence in grooming.
