Beaverton, OR ¿ – L.A.’s Great Western Forum will host the world’s top snowboarders and music’s record-breaking recording artist Eminem on Sept. 9, when “Dreamcast Presents The ACG Indoor” becomes America’s first indoor snowboard and music festival. The all-new event, which was moved from Chicago to Los Angeles for music availability reasons, will feature a live performance by Eminem, currently #1 on the Billboard 200 music charts. In addition to live music performances, Dreamcast Presents The ACG Indoor will feature top snowboard quarterpipe competitors from around the world vying for $75,000 in prize money — the largest purse ever offered at a U.S. snowboard quarterpipe event. State-of-the-art pyrotechnics and a laser show also will be offered.
“We knew that having the world’s best riders on the ramp meant that we also had to have the world’s best entertainment on stage,” says Scott MacEachern, global emerging sports marketing director at Nike, Inc. “Nike’s goal with this event is to turn the combination of sports and music into a fresh, new, interactive form of coliseum entertainment ¿ and to make the ultimate snowboarding competition available to an urban and suburban audience.”
“Sega is honored to be the presenting sponsor of this event,” said Heather Kashner, manager of consumer promotions, Sega of America. “This event will infuse our core audience with all forms of entertainment they enjoy ¿ especially videogames. There is no better place to reach our demographic and give them a first taste of some of the hottest Dreamcast games coming out this fall.”
Dreamcast Presents The ACG Indoor will be produced by On Board Entertainment, a sports and entertainment company specializing in the youth market. “With its great roster of invited snowboarders, live music performances and the many other planned components of the evening, the event truly offers a fusion of snowboarding and entertainment,” said Dan Hirsch, a partner at On Board Entertainment, a division of Dission Furst & Partners. “In addition to an extremely positive response from riders, we have also received great support from the event’s sponsors, which now include not only Sega Dreamcastà‚„¢, but also Maxell and CrossRocket.com. This is a great running start to a really exciting sport-infused music event.”
Dreamcast Presents The ACG Indoor will be broadcast on USA Network, October 7, at 11:00 AM. Ticket information will be provided in July, with every ticket purchase to be accompanied by a free lift ticket from Mountain High Resort.
