Nate Holland, winner of the 2009 Baker Banked Slalom.

Age: 31 (November 8, 1978)
Hometown: Squaw Valley, California
Stance: Regular
Recent results: 1st place at Bad Gastein World Cup. Gold medal in 2010 Winter X Games Boardercross.

Olympic outlook: It’s not unusual to hear Nate described as some combination of cocky, confident, and aggressive—not a bad thing for a boardercrosser. Nate’s been competing in boardercross for ten years—he’s ridden in nine X Games, and he is the only five time consecutive X Games Gold Medalist, and the only rider to beat the man to beat, Pierre Vaultier, on this winter’s World Cup circuit. Nate, like Pierre, is also an Olympic veteran, placing 14th at the 2006 Games. He is in position to win it, but one thing is worrisome—his lack of consistency on the World Cup circuit. He only made it into one of the five World Cup finals. When he does make the finals though, it’s on.
