Wrightwood, CA — January 2, 2004: The $25,000 Kawasaki Triple returns to Mountain High for its sixth straight season on Saturday, January 10th. This specialty event presented by Kawasaki, Boost Mobile, Active Ride Shop and Wahoo’s, is the richest one-day snowboarding competition in the country. First place takes home $6,000, a Kawasaki KFX400 Quad runner and a week’s stay at Turtle Bay Resort, Oahu. Past participants include Shawn White, J.P. Tomich, Matt Hammer, Gabe Taylor, Chris Bradshaw, Blaise Rosenthal and more.

Says Chuck Allen, Snowboarding and Special Events Manager, “Some people are surprised to see some of the best rippers in the country show up for the Kawasaki Triple Air. We have always kept the event simple and uncomplicated. We even situate our bleachers twenty feet from the action giving spectators a spectacular view!”

In Triple Air competition, riders are judged on their best of three runs. Each run consists of three specially-built, 40 to 60 foot tables, and participants are scored on a number of different factors including amplitude, style, difficulty and landing. Registration takes place from 6:00am to 9:00am and competition begins at 10:30am. Entry fees are $150.00 for professionals, $100.00 for amateurs and includes lift ticket, continental breakfast, lunch and awards raffle. Prizes money is awarded to the top 16 competitors in the professional division.
