MLY AND M3 INTRODUCE INNOVATIVE DEALER UTILITY
Portland, Oregon (February 22, 2000) ¿ MLY recently announced the development of an integrated dealer utility tool The dealer utility combines electronic information found on the web and on a photo CD with a printed round-up catalog which will serve as the 2000 2001 dealer catalog for both MLY and M3. The site and CD are currently available for dealer access.
“Because we approach the art of designing and building snowboards differently, we wanted to show our product to our dealers in a way that best portrays who we really are,” says Denise Ransome, MLY Marketing Director. “The site will show how our rider-directed research, efficient prototyping capabilities, in-house manufacturing and mountain location make us a rare cat in the industry. Basically, we want to give our dealers the best information possible to support their buying decisions and future sell-through.”
The secure site, accessed by special dealer codes, will provide detailed information about the MLY and M3 product lines as well as clear and decriptive images for both brands. Also showcased in the site is the company’s top-notch, in-house production facility and staff located in Portland, Oregon. A tour through this site segment details behind-the-scene secrets, including how prototypes can be produced in one week, the unique materials included in the MLY and M3 manufacturing process and the engineers’ “unnatural” relationship with the team riders.
“We’re incredibly proud of our factory and hardly ever get a chance to show it off,” confides Ransome. ” This site gave us the perfect opportunity to show our dealers the real backbone behind our brands.”
An added bonus in the site is an order worksheet tool that helps the buyer and sales representative put a preliminary order together quickly and easily. The worksheet tool will also calculate order quantities, prices, total and pertinent discounts. Customized pricing (U.S. or Canadian) will also be displayed in this site location.
Although the technical tools are a huge advantage, the imagery normally showcased in print catalogs won’t be left behind. In fact, says Ransome, “this site allows us to go one step further with our images. We’ll be able to use actual movement and interaction, important aspects of life in our market. Plus, it’s great entertainment!”
“We’re a progressive company,” says Mark Miller, Vice President, “and we decided we ought to give our dealers credit for being progressive and smart as well. We’re excited about the utility tool and eager for feedback from our retailers.”
With a manufacturing facility in Portland, Oregon, MLY has produced and marketed premium snowboards since 1994. M3 Snowboards was established in 1998.
