Jackson, Wyoming—In the final day of action at the Chevrolet Revolution Tour at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, locals ruled as Pat Holland (Jackson, WY) and Emma Rahme (Jackson, WY) won snowboardcross events.
Holland took down Quinn Orb (Ketchum, ID), Gregory Bretz (Mammoth Lakes, CA) and Donald Nyberg (Truckee, CA) in the finals.
“The course was pretty hard and icy, it was running pretty fast,” said Holland, who got the holeshot in every race and never had to make a pass. “I was really stoked to win here. I was riding well and taking good lines and pretty much killing it.”
Holland, who’s resided in Jackson for the past six years, competed in last season’s Revolution Tour at Jackson Hole, where he crashed in the semis and ended up placing fifth in snowboardcross.
Rahme finished ahead of Lindsay Lloyd (Centerville, UT), Nicole Porata (Auburn, CA) and Carrie Uren (Randle, WA).
“I thought it was a really fun course,” said Rahme. “It was really fast. It was unique because there wasn’t a perfect line through the course. I thought taking things wide was a good thing to do. I did my first pass in the air ever. It was a lot of fun.”
Rahme blew out her knee last season and was competing in just her second snowboardcross event of this season.
As the top junior finishers, Bretz and Rahme get invited to Project Gold, U.S. Snowboarding’s junior development program.
“We all had a really good time,” said U.S. Snowboarding program manager Becky Woolley. “The Jackson staff and volunteers all did an amazing job with the venues and the atmosphere surrounding the event kept everyone stoked.”
The fourth and final stop of the Revolution Tour will be June 20-21 at Windell’s Camp, near Mt. Hood and Timberline, Oregon.
In its second year, the Chevrolet Revolution Tour, managed by U.S. Snowboarding, is in place to bridge the gap between local-level competition and upper-level contests like the U.S. Snowboard Grand Prix, Vans Cup, U.S. Open and X-Games.
