TransWorld Snowboarding made it to High Cascade Snowboard Camp session 4 where we got to spend some one on one time with the super rad girl campers and signature sessioners, Desiree Melancon and Jess Kimura. We showed up just in time for All Girls Dodgeball, and got to watch as well as participate in a really intense yet ultra fun game of dodgeball. Campers, coaches, counselors, and staff agreed that it was one of the best times they had, and by far the best game of dodgeball they’d participated in all summer. Instantly impressed by their motivation and strength, we couldn’t wait to see what they were going to be doing on hill. Not surprisingly, all the girls killed it! Watching them push hard and progress was too cool, learning new tricks or nailing old ones, these girls always committed. High Cascade creates the ultimate environment for the girls to work on tricks together, and support each other through it all.

Their radness continued off hill during the Girls Only Skate session in the HCSC skate bowls. Having it all to themselves, the girls took the opportunity to learn how to skate it a relaxed space. Some girls experienced their first time on a skateboard, while veterans to the sport enjoyed the exclusivity of the all girls event. We were stoked on their want to go harder and bigger, and ultimately their desire to progress. Later on in the session we showed an all girls snowboard film to our group of campers. We watched Peep Show’s “Let’s Make Better Mistakes Tomorrow”. Having the pleasure of Desiree joining us, she talked to the girls about the importance of video parts as well as the progression of women in snowboarding. The girls were anxious to learn more and stoked on what they heard. During the session we asked the girls to Instagram photos of their time at camp including a #twsnowgirlshcsc as well as tagging @twsnow, and received some awesome shots of the girls shredding on the HCSC park. We had a great time getting to know them and hope they had an awesome time with us at camp. Hope to see you all next year!
