Burlington, VT (March 28, 2002) – Gravis is extremely proud to announce that it has added two of today’s top up-and-coming snowboarders, JP Solberg and Torah Bright, to the snowboarding sect of its global Development Team comprised of pro athletes (snowboarders, skaters, and surfers), artists and musicians.

A driving force within the company since day one, Gravis’ Development Team is constantly on the move, traveling to some of the most obscure spots the globe has to offer. Their feedback about what works and what does not work in a shoe or bag is invaluable, because they are all out there, putting Gravis’ diverse product offering to the ultimate test each day. When crafting the line, Gravis definitely takes into account the wishes and wants of its team, and it is their authentic perspective and unique commentary that helps Gravis continually stay on point and fresh.

Hailing from “The Gateway to the Fjords,” Bergen’s own Jan Petter “JP” Solberg is arguably one of Norway’s greatest exports since Terje Haakonsen.

At only 18 years of age, JP is a very progressive and powerful rider who possesses a charismatic personality and loads of natural talent. Exploding onto the snowboarding scene from virtually out of nowhere, he draws inspiration from his family and friends. JP is a carefree comedian at heart, and is extremely psyched to be traveling the world as a professional snowboarder – he is truly living his dream. Remember the name, because you will definitely be hearing a lot about JP down the road.

At only 15 years of age, Australia’s Torah Bright charged onto the global snowboarding scene this past season, and she quickly made her presence felt by tearing up the women’s competitive circuit, frequently placing above many of the sport’s best. Torah’s newfound success is a testament to the fact that she is much more than just a pretty face, as her fine-tuned skills, deep bag of tricks, and passion for the sport definitely make her one to watch out for in the years to come. Splitting time between the Land Down Under and Mammoth Mountain, CA, Torah is a very talented rider who not only exudes an intelligent, down-to-earth persona, but also hopes to one-day represent Australia in the Winter Olympic Games

The future of snowboarding has arrived, and amazingly, JP and Torah are just getting started!
