Only in Argentina can a crew of girls roll around the mountain and get hissed at on a regular basis. This is normal business for us down here at South America Snow Sessions (SASS) where things are…well, not so average. Think Shakira meets "Out Cold" and you are on the right track, but nothing really puts it into words. Where else can you ride tech powder lines, hit the park, and stop for a 'café con leche' in one run? I know, sounds ridiculous, but this epic combo exists.
The girls that made it down to SASS for Session 1 got it good, so good. Landing the first 3 days with a heavy snowfall, which followed up by sun for a week had its ups and downs. However, the girls crew took full advantage and made the most of each day keeping spirits high and airs even higher. From hikes, to knee deep slashes, to jumps, to park, and a rail session as an ender, we pretty much covered the whole spectrum of the snowboard rainbow in Session 1. After long days of nine-to-five-ing on the mountain, a lot of stretching and sleep were needed to turn our legs from jell-o to carbonite for the next day of snow destruction. Somehow our two youngest campers Riley Elliot and Roxy Am Summer Fenton made enough time in between Spanish and siesta to make a rap that took gold at the SASS talent show. Following close behind and taking silver was me and Nat Gough's crew with our first episode of the new mini-series "Babe Watch".
Babes aside, new storms are on the move and things are looking white in the forecast so expect less metal and more face shots in Session 2. The new crew for this week is huge and our park is now up and running so stay tuned for more of what you wish you were really doing this summer.
