A late-season snowstorm rolled through the Mammoth area today. As temperatures exceed the 100 degree mark in the middle of the country, California snowboarders are bundling up for 30- degree weather and enjoying a quick burst of winter. The four to six inches of new snow, along with the existing two- to five-foot base covers Mammoth’s slopes top to bottom providing excellent conditions.
As Mammoth’s ski season draws to a close on June 19, preparations are already being made for the 2000/01 season. Mammoth is investing more than eleven-million dollars in resort improvements this summer including a new lift and expanded snowmaking. Additionally, the resort still has a limited number of 375-dollar Value Season Passes available.
