Mount Snow, Vt. – The ESPN Winter X Games brings four days of world-classcompetition to the village of Mount Snow, Vt. February 1-4, 2001. More than250 of the world’s best winter-sport athletes will vie for medals and prizemoney in 15 events in five sport categories.
The event welcomes all, free-of-charge, with plenty of spectator viewingareas. The main base area offers concessions, merchandise and interactiveopportunities for spectators.
The Winter X Games features competitions in Skiing (Big Air and men’s andwomen’s Skier X), Snowboarding (men’s and women’s Big Air, Snowboarder x,Slopestyle and SuperPipe), Snowmobiling (HillCross and SnoCross), UltraCrossand new to this year’s event – Moto X. The Mount Snow Resort team has workedclosely with ESPN to improve upon last year’s record-breaking event, whichbrought more than 83,500 spectators to the 2000 Winter X Games.
The Winter X Games air on ESPN, ESPN2 and ABC beginning February 2, withmore than 18 hours of original programming. The Games are telecast to anaudience of more than 20 million viewers in more than 180 countries andterritories worldwide.
