January has been a busy month at the DC Mountain Lab, which has received a ton of guests over the last few weeks. On January 12, for one brief, shining afternoon, the gates to the private Lab swung open for several local Utah DC retailers (and their lucky employees).

DC sales rep Mike Lowder invited area shop owners, buyers, and employees from Milosport, Blindside, Directive Logan, BC Surf & Sport, and The Click. Everyone used the rope tow to ride the park, checked out the custom DC/Yamaha shred sleds, previewed the 2004 boot and outerwear line, and chilled with DC’s riders, reps, team manager Brian Botts and DC President Ken Block.

Since all the snow dumped in December, several DC team members and friends have been at the Lab, too. The week of January 19, the Lab hosted Danny Way, Rob Dyrdek, Jason Ellis, Sal Masekela, Renee Renee (so nice they named him twice), and Big Black, who were in town for the Sundance and X Dance Film Festivals, held in nearby Park City.

The DC sample room had to whip Big Black up some special 5-XL DC winter gear. The week prior, DC’s surf team, Bruce and Andy Irons, took a break from the waves to ride the Lab’s park. Andy is fresh off his second consecutive world title, while brother Bruce has just qualified for the World Championship Tour.

That was all just in January, and the 2004 winter is just getting underway. Stay tuned for more updates from the Lab as winter progresses.
