DENVER, CO – May 31, 2002.After close to two years as the President and CEO of Colorado Ski Country USA (CSCUSA), David Perry has accepted the position as Senior Vice President of the Aspen Skiing Company. His last day will be June 28th.
Perry joined CSCUSA in September of 2000. During his reign as President/CEO, Perry shifted the focus of the organization to marketing and business development, implementing a number of new impressive initiatives and plans, including the Mountain Media Awards and the Core College Tour. His years of ski industry expertise helped build key relationships with industry influencers. Perry created a new, fresh look for CSCUSA through the development of a new logo, tag line and web site. Perry came to CSCUSA from Intrawest’s Whistle/Blackcomb where he was the Vice President of Marketing and Sales. A native of Canada, David spent 27 years in the ski industry prior to becoming President of Colorado Ski Country USA. In his nearly three decades in the mountain resort industry, David’s career has covered the spectrum from marketing to real estate to operations and heli-skiing. Perry is the eighth person to serve as president of CSCUSA during its 37-year history
“The time I have spent at Colorado Ski Country USA has been very rewarding – I have had the privilege of working some superb people, both the staff of Ski Country and those at our member resorts,” said Perry. “And now I am energized to be joining the team at the Aspen Skiing Company – a world renowned community and resort, and happy to be staying here in Colorado, the very best place to both live and ski.”
Perry will begin his new duties in Aspen on August 5th.
“I’ve worked with David both at Whistler and in his position at Colorado Ski Country, and the opportunity to work closely with him again here at Aspen/Snowmass will be tremendous,” said Pat O’Donnell, president/CEO of Aspen Skiing Company. “In his time at CSCUSA, David has visited Aspen/Snowmass often both for work and pleasure. He is passionate about this place and his experience working in a ski community is evident. He’s exceptionally skilled at building new business, marketing a resort and driving skier days.”
