Resort Hosts Snowboard Team for Unprecedented Photo Shoot

HOOD RIVER, Ore., May 10, 2002- The Da Kine snowboard team enjoyed the hospitality of Mt. Bachelor Resort, where for the first time ever, the resort provided personnel, resources and exclusive mountain access for the team’s photo shoot April 20 – 23.

The event was inspired through a collaborative effort among Da Kine snow marketing and team manager, Randy Torcom, Mt. Bachelor marketing director, Carly Hogan, and Bachelor’s Director of Mountain Operations, Matt Janney. The resort went the extra mile to customize the terrain park, as well as construct special features throughout the grounds, providing the Da Kine team with a unique environment to conduct their photo shoot.

Highlights from the week’s action included Mitch Nelson and Janna Meyen hitting the handrails at the bottom of Bachelor’s West Village; Jon Cartwright jumping 30 feet from the roof of the Mt. Bachelor Snowboard Shop to a tiny snow bank and sticking it clean; and Brandon Ruff, the only team rider who jumped a ridiculously huge (25 ft. high by 70 ft. wide) road gap, hand crafted by Mt. Bachelor’s grooming crew.Participants included Da Kine team riders Jesse Huffman, Josh Dirksen, Jon Cartwright, Jessica Dalpiaz, Brandon Ruff, Carsten Bahnson, Shin Campos, Janna Meyen, Leslee Olson, and Mitch Nelson; photographers Stan Evans and Kurtis Croy; filmers Brad Kramer (Kingpin Productions), Ross Steffey (Mack Dawg Productions), and Jon Boyer (Standard Films); and Da Kine’s Torcom, Chico Bukovansky, Mark Anderson and Eric Hauge.
