Boulder, Colo. — The area’s top snowboarders will hit the streets of Boulder’s famed college hangout “The Hill, Friday March 14th from 6-9:30 pm. The University of Colorado Snowboard Team is teaming up with the University and the City of Boulder to host a truly unique event that promises to showcase the skills and spills of the area’s best riders.  The jam is the first event of its kind to ever hit the front range of Colorado.   

Competitors will be battling multi kinked rails on a closed portion of 13th Street for cash and sponsor product for the top finishers.  Spectators will be able to enjoy the contest while browsing the local establishments and rocking out to live entertainment.   

“Boulder and the CU campus deserve to host an exciting event that brings snowboarding even closer to town,” said John Anderson, president of the CU Snowboard Team.  “Our goal is to produce an event that can become a tradition to the campus and local riders.

Cost- $30
Format- Jam Session
à¿      Prelims- Two 30 minute rail jam sessions with top 5 riders advancing to finals
à¿      Finals-  30 minute jam session consisting of 10 riders

The University of CO Snowboard Team 

In 2000, the CU Snowboard Team was established with the aim of offering a new competitive alternative in sports for the students at the university.  In only its first year, the team attracted 50 riders.  Today, the CU Snowboard Team has over 150 members and an elite level coaching staff, including World Champion Jimi Scott.
