Doriane Vidal was born on the sixteenth of April and has since lived in the town of Perpignan in Southern France, where her home mountains are the nearby Pyrenees. You only need to spend a short amount of time with her to find out what a lovely person she is. She seems a little shy at first, but you soon discover a patient and amusing friend who won’t tolerate anyone offending her-even if it is just in fun.
Doriane only started snowboarding six years ago, and now she is one of Rossignol’s top European women riders. Her best experience happened in April of ’97 at Serre Chevalier with her good friend Guillaume Chastagnol. They freerode the whole day in really deep powder with no one at the resort-a day to remember.
In the future Doriane would like to continue competing and freeriding. She’d also like to make it to the Olympic Games again; she was a part of it in Nagano and had a lot of fun. As far as travel goes, she says, “I would like to spend more time in the places I go so I can really discover them.” As for her other goals in snowboarding, she simply says, “I want to be less afraid of doing bigger airs and more spins!”
By the looks of this, she is getting over here fear rather quickly.
