Burlington, VT – Scott Struve joins Burton Snowboards’ Marketing Department as the new Director of Brand Marketing this week. In his new role, Scott will be responsible for managing Burton’s brand image and shaping the development of all marketing collateral such as Burton’s advertising campaigns, catalogs and websites.

Scott comes to Burton with a wide range of experience in brand identity and relationship marketing. Most recently, he was the Director of Marketing Communications at TIMEX Corporation where he was charged with repositioning the brand to a younger audience and transitioning TIMEX into a progressive brand with cutting edge technology and style. In this role, he directed all consumer communications, advertising, public relations and website projects and integrated marketing programs on a global level.

In Scott’s previous position at TIMEX, he was the strategic architect for the brand HELIX, a TIMEX sub-brand that targets action sports participants. Working with industrial designers and engineers, Scott developed the HELIX product from conception through completion. Scott started his career in advertising at the Lambesis agency where he counted Airwalk among his clients. Following this, he was a Category Manager at Converse where he launched the company’s skate shoe line and signed sponsorships with Kenny Anderson, Danny Supa and Felix Arguelles.

As an avid snowboarder with a ten-year background in youth and action sports marketing, Scott has a strong history in the board sports industry and a solid vision of where he would like to take the Burton brand. “My vision for the Burton brand is growth via profound evolution,” says Scott. “I want to position Burton as the definitive progressive outdoor lifestyle brand while continuing to fuel our roots.”

“We’re excited for Scott to join Burton,” says Laurent Potdevin, President of Burton Snowboards. “In a constantly evolving industry, Scott’s fresh perspective will help Burton create and capitalize on new opportunities.”
