SEATTLE – Black Dot, a leader in technical boardwear “without the sticker shock,” has named Greg Manning to the new position of field promotions coordinator, announced Vice President of Sales Roger Bird.

Manning brings over 13 years of both competitive snowboarding and marketing experience in the alternative sports industry. He is a former New England Cup halfpipe champion, Killington Big Air champion, Bordercross finalist and has been a team rider for Palmer Snowboards, Ride, Scott USA, and Smokin’ Snowboards. Manning is currently sponsored by Kombi, Six Pack Wax, Vonzipper and Wigwam products.

Manning is responsible for promoting the snowboard clothing brand by securing event sponsorships, product placement opportunities and recruiting team riders. He will also support Black Dot’s sales, marketing and product development efforts.

“Having someone with Greg’s professional talent and background at the grassroots level adds an important dimension to our brand building efforts,” said Bird. “He not only brings a wealth of knowledge about the sport, but provides an invaluable resource to enhance Black Dot® products through input and feedback from the competitive field.”

In the Fall ’01 season, Manning will play a critical role in the launch of Black Dot’s “Pro Series”, a collection of technical performance boardwear and accessories. The collection features an HV3(tm) HydroVent(tm) three-layer WPB technology and will be targeted primarily to core snowboarding shops.
