This week Billabong will be holding a grass-roots shop tour aimed at stoking out key retailers, local kids at the shops, and promoting its snow program. The tour will feature Andrew Crawford, Kevin Jones, and Kurt Wastell peeling out in Crawford’s classic turbo-charged Z28 Camero, leaving clouds of smoke and burnt rubber in his wake. The tour starts in San Diego and heads up the California Coast, finally arriving at Mt. Hood, Oregon early next week.
Tour director Enich Harris will be driving a support vehicle loaded with a BBQ, hot dogs, skateboards, muscle T’s, coolers, road sodas, wigs, hats, stickers, posters, and whatever else these rock stars need to perform.
“We’ll be hitting three or four shops a day, and just want to stoke out the shop guys,” says Harris. “Although the snow season isn’t going to start for a month or so, this is a good time for the riders to do something like this because they’re not riding right now or really doing anything else. We just want to give back to the shops who have supported us.”
