Boarding For Breast Cancer – Shred The Love In Mammoth
Cancer sucks. It’s that toxic, mysterious disease that manages to find its way into all of our lives–snowboarders or not. When you get to the nitty-gritty, breast cancer alone affects every one in eight women, and every one in 1000 men. A pretty heavy statistic when you stop and think.
Boarding For Breast Cancer (B4BC) has dedicated their entire mission to spreading the word on breast cancer awareness and prevention.
Last weekend, B4BC hosted their final hurrah for the Shred The Love Winter series in Mammoth. Elena Hight, Hana Beaman, Gabe Taylor, Kimmy Fasani, Kelly Clark, and Jenny Jones were among the many who came out to support the cause. The crew raised about $16,000 throughout the two-day fundraiser. A portion of the funds will benefit Mammoth Hospital’s Cancer Outreach Programs.
“It’s a magical thing to be able to create opportunities where people can come together, share stories, laugh, play, learn from each other and pass the good vibes forward. Shred the Love Mammoth did just that and was the perfect ending to the season-long series” said Erika Seward, B4BC Executive Director. “We’re thankful to all that contributed to its success, most especially Kimmy Fasani and Chris (Benchetler).”
