After a brief rest over the summer, it’s that trade-show time of year again, and ASR is kicking it off with a weekend of seminars in San Diego. Here’s a little insight on the convention.
Friday, September 8, 3:00¿4:30 p.m.Retail Success¿Getting Into OrbitThis seminar is a basic review for those who would like to know more about increasing sales, profits, and cash flow. This is the first part of a two-part seminar to help retailers and employees get reacquainted with basic retailing concepts. Topics discussed will include: determining initial markup, understanding the direct impact of markdowns, and how to easily compute maintained markup.

This year keep an eye out for the vert ramp that will be up and in use throughout the show. Vert ramp demonstrations will be held three times a day.
Also parents, this year ASR has a special three-day session called Camp ASR for kids ages 8¿14. The activities will include: learning how to assemble skateboards, watching how surfboards are made, understanding magazines and how they are put together, and learning more about the environment.
