Allian Snowboards has added to its already impressive team. New riders include Americans John Sommers and Todd Schlosser, Canadian Kale Stephens, Finland’s Satu Jarvele and Sebu Kuhlberg, France’s Jean “Babs” Babtiste Charlet, and Sweden’s Peter Strom, Jacob Soderqvist, and founder Ingemar Backman.
The whole Allian team will meet in Kirkwood in Lake Tahoe, California for a big team get-together for a photo shoot and to do final work on the upcoming Allian video that will be produced by Dave Seone. The video will be out in July 2000. The man who made the Kirkwood come together happen is our team rider John Sommers.
The Allian team has been turning heads at contests lately. Backman took third place in Superpipe at the most respected contest at moment, the Arctic Challenge in Lofoten in Northern Norway. Ingemar also won the best trick in the quarterpipe with a superhigh backside 540 nosebone. He’s has been in Riksgransen shooting for his Transworld SNOWboarding magazine interview coming out in August and for his part in Dave Seone’s video.
Soderqvist took third place at the Slopestyle at Sims World Cup in Whistler.
“Babs,” who just came home from the Canary Islands is the guest editor for Monster Backside magazine. That issue will also include a ten-page interview with Backman as well.
