Golden, Colorado — Continuing to build momentum for 2000 and beyond, Airwalk International announced the appointment of Bruce Pettet as president and chief executive officer.
Pettet, formerly president and chief executive officer of Brooks Sports Inc., led the brand’s dramatic turnaround over the last five years, reclaiming its position as a leading technical footwear and apparel manufacturer. Pettet was recently named one of the Marketing 100 by Advertising Age magazine, a designation of the top marketers in the country that included well known executives such as Steve Jobs of Apple Computer, Sam Shahid of Abercrombie & Fitch, and Jeff Bezos of Amazon.com. Pettet was also named an industry Pacesetter by Sporting Goods Business, which identified executives that will shape the future of the sporting goods industry.
Since the purchase of Airwalk by Sunrise Capital Partners in July of last year, the brand has successfully refocused its efforts on its heritage in core board sports and continues its move toward reclaiming its position as the leader in the action sports industry. Pettet will lead this charge.

The team to be led by Pettet includes: Mitch Brabson, vice president of sourcing, design and development, Linda Nielander, vice president of marketing, Gregg Imamoto chief financial officer and vice president of operations, David Chandler, vice president of licensing, Mike Zinn, vice president of footwear sales, and Dan Van Duzor, vice president of snow product marketing and sales.
