This interactive and user-friendly site features a clean, yet technical interface that offers extensive information on products, athletes, news and upcoming events set to the sound of original music by Denver Punk Band, The Eight Bucks Experiment. The site is divided into sections that focus on airwalk’s core competencies, skate, BMX and snow with access to secondary navigation bars where visitors can get extensive information on riders and products, ask questions to the omnipotent airwalk guru, register for regular updates, access dealer locations and purchase product. “The new site is like an evolving, easy to navigate destination that educates, informs and entertains visitors about all facets of the authentic airwalk brand,” said Geoff Hannen, director of marketing for TAR_7 and airwalk. “With continually updated archives, product rider and contest information, the site will be a domain to follow.”
Developed by The Integer Group of Denver, Colorado, the new site features a technical flash introduction, and incorporates organic design elements and lines inspired by airwalk product. The exterior frames that encase the sight have a rough, gray texture that emulates the street, while the predominant color schemes are inspired by each of the sports which airwalk represents…skate in street construction orange, snow in blue sky, BMX in blood red and style (surf) in sand. The site has an overall cohesive mix of high tech features and subtle details that fit in line with airwalk’s integrated brand philosophy.
Each category in the skate, snow and BMX section will offer a full overview of relevant product technologies, current product offering, rider information and archive history. Visitors can scroll over the product to learn about the features and benefits on each airwalk style, or scroll over any of the airwalk team riders in each section for bio, contest and sponsor information, and action and lifestyle shots.
Additional sections include a duds section, which highlights airwalk’s offering of apparel and accessories, and a style section, which features etura by airwalk lifestyle footwear line, Outland lifestyle footwear line and information on airwalk-sponsored professional surfers. A “happs” section will give visitors information on current company happenings, product developments, and the latest team news. Also included is a “guru” section for emailing questions, comments, feedback and advice to airwalk’s own Web guru with promise of prompt response.
Visitors can learn about airwalk’s deep roots as one of the original action sports brands and its rich history dating to 1986 in the site’s archive gallery. The archive includes information on airwalk’s history as the soul of an original as well as a gallery of historical ads featuring skaters like Geoff Rowley, Pat Duffy, Tony Hawk, and Matt Hensley!
