Apparel

Drawing on numerous innovations never before seen in the snowboarding arena, the Fall ’99 RLX Snowboard Collection will feature an array of tops and bottoms that address the modern technical and aesthetic consciousness of today’s snowboarder. RLX will introduce a completely new fabric for jackets and pants. These garments have deep roots in American culture, but up to this point haven’t been technically advanced enough for truly authentic snowboard apparel.

To help him develop and refine the line, Ralph Lauren formed the Polo Sport Snowboard team that includes Olympic Bronze Medalist Ross Powers, six-time World Champion Michele Taggart, and reigning boardercross champion Andy Hetzel. The RLX team’s goal has been to provide serious snowboarders with gear that has the highest possible function, fabrication, and fit. That means developing products with input from the team, and using the best possible materials from companies like DuPont, W.L. Gore, Malden Mills, and Toray, to name a few.
