PINEWSKI’S SKI AND BOARD IN ANOKA, MINNESOTA PROUDLY ANNOUNCES ITS 2004 SUMMER BLOWS CARNIVAL AND SNOWBOARD RAIL JAM
Anoka, Minnesota, July 10, 2004 – After Years of rumors and hearsay that the Midwest isn’t legit, the community at Pinewski’s Board Shop have become fed up. They are taking the pro-active approach (literally) by building a ramp in their parking lot and trucking in snow for a first if its kind event in Minnesota in the middle of July! The contest, appropriately named the Summer Blows Snow Rail Jam, is “an opportunity for the riders of the Midwest to get a little riding in the off season, but more importantly it is an opportunity for the Midwest to stop being looked over by the coastal mountain powers of California, Utah, Colorado, and Vermont,” says Pinewski’s Manager Paul White.
The rail contest isn’t all that is going to be taking place on Saturday July 24. Starting at noon, Pinewski’s is going to be having a full on carnival with a Dunk the Pro dunk tank, a Reef hot tub, a Red Bull DJ, food, and a tent city with companies like Palmer, Academy, Ride, Nixon, Vans, Mission Six, Holden, Matix, Rome, Smith, Oakley, K2 and many, many, more bringing their 2005 products for everyone to get a sneak peek at.
The riding will start at six on the ramp covered with real snow trucked in from local ice rinks. The rail will feature a two-inch wide flat bar rail with ten feet of flat to fifteen feet of down. Sheldon Sabbatini will be coming out from Salt Lake City to shoot the event as well as the Fraudulent Cinema Crew Also from Utah. Bald E-Gal Productions will be on hand and Stuck Magazine is coming from the windy city. Some of the nation’s top pros are coming from all over and the regions top amswill be vying for the $250 cash prize for first place.
