ZAC MARBEN: AR4T Gallery is pleased to welcome charismatic snowboarder and artist Zac Marben. This will be
Zac’s first solo exhibition and features all new paint, ink and paper-incorporated works by the young artist. Zac Marben is known for his naturally creative style in art, snowboarding, music and life. His energy is infectious and pours out onto the canvas, whether it’s a guitar, skate deck or canvas itself. As Scott Sillivan said in Frequency magazine: “Zac is a true individual in a sea of clones.” Influenced by the road, old print and illustrations he comes across, and his recent move to the Northwest where he calls Portland home, his latest body of work is a mixed media display that cements his force among the greats of the snowboarding-inspired art community.
EL MYSTERIOSO: From the deepest darkest parts unknown, the land of chorizo and chupacabras, there is a band called Los Mysteriosos – matadors of sound unlike anything you’ve heard before. Streaming machismo, they’re a visual fiesta of flamenco moves and pinata bashing. At other points of the night, they can play as sweetly as the lime in your cerveza. Every live show is different and you can never know what to expect. El Mysterioso is the legendary front man for Los Mysteriosos. A lone wolf for the evening, he is taking over AR4T Gallery on a solo mission. Time for fiesta Laguna Beach! Oral’e!
DANO FORTE’S JUKE JOINT FREAKSHOW: Dano Forte’s Juke Joint Freak Show is a one-man-band mix of delta blues, country blues, Texas shuffles……hell, it’s all just the blues. Armed with just a National resonator guitar, a harmonica, a tambourine, a drum foot pedal, and an old suitcase, Dano plays music that is more likely to come out of Mississippi juke joint than Costa Mesa, the place he calls home. A man of integrity and passion, whether surfing Blackies or playing the blues at a dingy club, Dano Forte is sure to have himself a ball. Vocals- Dano Forte, Harmonica – Dano Forte, Guitar – Dano Forte , Drums – Dano Forte.
“ZAC MARBEN” runs September 17 through October 2nd at AR4T SPACE, 210 North Coast Hwy. (between Broadway and Cliff), Laguna Beach, CA. The opening receptions, on June 18, July 7, July 29 and Aug. 19 from 7 to 10pm, are free and open to the public. Parking Meters free after 7pm. Works are for sale.
