Portland, Maine — Carlisle Sports Management announced today a new three-year deal between Oxygen Snowboards and Seth Wescott, one of the top U.S. dual ranked FIS halfpipe and boardercross riders in the world.
Wescott is one of two Americans on Oxygen’s new international riding team. Oxygen is sponsoring several athletes in countries around the world this season. à'†žOne of the great things about Seth is that he is very professional and serious about his training. He does what it takes to make himself better,” said Michael Joyce, Director of Snowboarding for Oxygen.
Due to results from a global market study, Oxygen recently began to re-position itself and focus much of its energies toward the free riding and freestyle side of the business. “This study prompted us to extend beyond alpine riding and into other snowboarding disciplines,” Joyce said. “This is why Seth appeals to us so much. In our view, he really is an all-American, wholesome person. He is articulate and a great dual athlete. Beyond that, he involves himself with things behind the scenes and we believe that is going to help us drive sales.” he continued.
Being 6’2″, Wescott is very pleased to be working with Oxygen. “They have a line that is really geared towards my needs. I’m tall, and most pipe boards are relatively small. The Oxygen boards fit me and are built to suit the two disciplines I specialize in,” he said.
Wescott, 23, lives and trains at Sugarloaf USA in Maine. He has plans to compete around the world in both halfpipe and boardercorss competitions this season.
