Nearly 200 of North American’s best amateur snowboarders are gearing up to compete inthe culmination of the 2005/06 North American Peanut Butter and Rail Jam tour.Consisting of 13 qualifying stops, both the size and number of events combine to makethis the biggest PB&RJ Championships yet! The event will again be judged by Volcom’spro snowboard team and include a mind-blowing BBQ lunch, snacks, drinks and a liveDJ for your listening pleasure.
The Peanut Butter and Rail Jam is Volcom’s completely free amateur snowboard contestseries. Currently in it’s 5th year, the goal of the events is to give something back to thekids. Competitors break down into four divisions: 15 under, 16 over, Girls and Open. Thecontest layout consists of three separately judged features placed side by each. Thisboosts the energy level and fun nature of the event because everyone is together, riding,hiking, and watching in a big group. There are no schedule runs as the contest runs in ajam format. Riders can hit each of the rails as many times as they want during their 20minute heat. The judges only care about tricks pulled, so kids don’t need to worry aboutfalling.
