The Oakley compound in Orange County played host to the first of the season’s big video premieres—Absinthe Films’ Vivid . Goggle production was put on hold as the Oakley people converted the building’s reception desk into a bar and the front lobby into a snowboard-industry mixer, all before the crowd piled into the soundproof theatre to view Vivid on the big screen.

Filmmakers Justin Hoystnek and Patrick Ambruster brought everyone no less the multiple angle, European-heavy masterpiece of years past, with a solid soundtrack and loads of crazy Hemsedal-kicker footage. A few highlights include Axel Pauporté reaching maximum velocity straight-lining a chute, cool and unique camera angles, and Romain De Marchi’s entire part.

One of the neat things about Absinthe movies is their documentation of really great riders who aren’t your standard big name pros—guys like Shin Campos, Nicolas Müller, Freddie Kalbermatten, and Travis Rice. And it was also great to see that all these shreds, even the European ones, were excited enough about the movie to make the journey to Southern California for the premiere. Keep an eye out for Vivid in shred shops near you.
