Seattle, Washington, February 8th, 2005 — Venue Snowboard Co. is proud to announce the addition of 22 year-old Hans Ahlund of Alvsbyn, Sweden and 17 year-old Michael Goldschmidt of Vermont to the Pro team. Both riders pack raw talent as the first additions to the team, backing the Venue team ideals- to support up and coming riders and undiscovered amateur talent.
They may be young and raw, but they sure get around, with both riders gaining exposure, industry recognition and respect, daily. You might have seen Michael and Hans rubbing elbows with the best of them at The Block Party in Lake Tahoe, or Grand Prix and Triple Crown events this past December. You may have noticed Hans slaying rails in White Out Films, “Positron, or in European mags like Method and Onboard. Michael has recently competed in the Grand Prix in Breckenridge, CO, and was invited to the X-Games, where he placed 8th in the Men’s Super Pipe Finals this past January 29th through February 1st. Last year he earned 1st place at the USASA Nationals for Halfpipe, 2nd place for Slopestyle. Not bad considering he was 16 and up against some of the biggest names in Snowboarding. In addition, Hans brings more of the same, known for his aggressive riding style, and video coverage.
“We’re super excited to have Hans and Michael part of our team. These guys really represent the future of snowboarding and fit perfectly with our brands future, said Dane Hjort CEO of Marketing for Venue, Northwave, Drake and Bakoda.
