STRATTON MOUNTAIN, Vermont: Two-time World Champion, 2002 Olympian, and 2006 Olympic hopeful Tricia Byrnes comes home to Stratton Mountain to host a two-day snowboard camp for intermediate and advanced riders of all ages.
The Tricia Byrnes Snowboard Camp at Stratton Mountain is set for December 22-23, 2005, during a quick visit back to Vermont between Grand Prix stops on her road to Torino and the 2006 Olympic Games.
Campers will ride and train with Tricia and top coaches from the Stratton Snowboard School. Pros and special guest coaches may be joining the roster as well. This unique camp includes two days of fast-paced riding and training with tips on getting ready for competition at every level from local events to the Olympic arena. Byrnes began skiing at the age of four when her parents bought a vacation home at Stratton Mountain and then in 1989 she picked up one of her brother’s used snowboards it was a perfect fit With a long list of victories, including the US Open trophy she won as a 17-year-old amateur, she says being at the Olympics was the best experience she’s had so far in snowboarding. “I can’t believe where the sport is today. The Olympics have definitely brought snowboarding to a new level.”
