Carlsbad, CA—The October issue of TransWorld SNOWboarding magazine (twsnow.com), the world’s #1 snowboard magazine, reveals the 45 winning boards in the eleventh annual Good Wood Board Test. The results are broken down into categories including Top 10 Men’s And Women’s Under $399, Top 10 Men’s And Women’s Over $400, and Top 5 Best Pipe Boards.

“There isn’t a lot of good info available to riders looking to invest in a new snowboard,” said Annie Fast, TransWorld SNOWboarding’s editor-in-chief. “That’s why the Good Wood Test results are so important—we give our readers solid feedback on which boards ride the best, and we offer this info in price ranges available for every rider.”

Over 30 brands sent in a total of 450 boards to be tested last spring in Breckenridge, Colorado’s Park Lane Park, Freeway Superpipe, and the 2,400 vertical feet of all-mountain terrain on Peak 8. The 23 testers scored the boards based on characteristics that define a good board such as turning, flex, high-speed stability; and also those specific to park, pipe, or all-mountain boards.

The October issue features an overview on each winning board, tester comments, and complete tech stats. Readers will be able to use the Good Wood results to find the perfect board whether they’re down for park riding, all-mountain freeriding, or shredding the pipe.

  • fred Says:

i'm so sick of them putting that damn channel system on all their boards so you have to buy burton bindings. I ride Flows, I won't ride anything else. EST bindings - probly a good idea, the channel - retarded

  • Steve Says:

The boards with the channel system come with disks you you can use any bindings on them, and the channel is a pretty awesome idea.

  • gwilo408 Says:

transworld sold out!!!!!! burton are kidding me they took the top spots. buy American made snowboards and support independent snowboard company's.

    p.s burton makes it's boards in china…….

  • tony seibold Says:

yeah i wonder how de-verse the field of riders were, r they pros or just random people. Anyway K2 rocks.

  • Romelova! Says:

    did they even test romes?!

  • tony seibold Says:

I agree i ride K2, even though i think there made in China to. Yet there is a real awesome small company in Chicago called GAG Snowboards. They were at a comp one time real nice boards. If i wasnt so hooked on K2 id ride with them.

  • thewu7 Says:

thats a crock of shit. burton does not make its boards in china. There is a factory in Vermont, but believe what you want idiot

  • drone527 Says:

  • justin Says:

  • trew Says:

  • Ben Says:

Burton is still rider owned… You can't say that about many companies, including ROME,

  • ballstein Says:

    is now O-Matic!

  • yo mama Says:

killed in the break up of 4star. wooo wooo.

  • keith Says:

You can't use "any" bindings on the channel, but you can use non-EST Burton Bindings on them.

  • coleb Says:

word….i love burton i use to have a Burton Dragon 158……that was by far the best board i ever owned…and whats this $hit about china?i hope thats not true……..dont get me wrong i get the support your local independent thing, and thats cool but burton wasent started by NIKE
or any such corprate giant in disgise……it was started by a pioneer of the sport.Snowboarding is not that old lets not forget its roots…….long live burton

  • boneless Says:

    what happened to BATALEON?

  • chris mattin Says:

dang people read the posts, 30 brands, 450! boards, no shit they tested those boards but just because they didnt make their top ten doesnt mean there not dooopppee!!

  • bnimph Says:

of course the Burton X8 didn't make it, cuz they priced it too high. good thing i get the hookup, half price!!

  • Willy07 Says:

Burton sucks as a company. but unfortunately they make great boards… Everyone likes to claim they are maid in china, but any board that cost over 400 is maid in austria or vermont. If you want to support american maid boards you either have to buy burton or libtech/gnu… or neversummer but they suck. Ride & k2 China, Rome Capita Nitro and DC are all maid in austria.

P.S. Yeah burton is still rider owned but they dropped like half of their core team cause uninc wasn't selling. Kinda goes against everything uninc stands for.

  • alberto Says:

who try out the custom v rocker ? need feedback.
