Torah Bright on Roxy

Huntington Beach, CA—Roxy announced todaythat snowboardings’s shining star Torah Bright has officially chosenRoxy as her sponsor from head to toe with the addition of hard goods.Having joined the team in 2000, the deal marks the continuation of asuccessful collaboration between brand and athlete.

To celebrate, Roxy will be creating a signature series jacket, snowboardand boots, in addition to another signature rhinestone-studded TorahGoggle available in winter 2007.

Torah’s charming approachability, uncommon beauty and impressive contestrecord-including 2005 victories at the Arctic Challenge and the NipponOpen-have made her one of the most celebrated athletes in the world.Torah charged on to the international snowboarding scene in 2002, whenat the age of 15, she took second place at the World SnowboardingChampionships Big Air. By the end of the 2003/2004 season, she had wonthe FIS World Cup half pipe finals, making her runner up in the finalWorld Cup standings and earning her a Roxy sponsorship. With two 2005World Cup bronzes, she qualified for the 2006 Australian Olympic Team.Unfortunately, she missed the medal podium, placing fifth. But her lossonly seems to have made her more determined. In the month following theGames, she scored three consecutive international wins at the Vans Cup,the World Superpipe Championships and the US Open Half Pipe. And at the2006 X Games, she won a silver medal for what many are calling the mosttechnical women’s Pipe combo in history-a “backside 360” to a “switchbackside 540” and a “switch frontside 720.”

Torah spends the entire year on the slopes, splitting her time betweentwo hemispheres and two winters in Salt Lake City and her hometown ofCooma. Her intense work ethic pays off: her signature “McTwists” and”Cab 540s” are the highest of any woman out there.
