Santa Monica, California (August 3, 2011) - Red Bull Media House, in association with Brain Farm Digital Cinema, are taking “The Art of FLIGHT,” a Curt Morgan film on the road worldwide. The tour kicks off with the world premiere at New York City’s Beacon Theatre on September 7, 2011. Then “The Art of FLIGHT” travels to over 20 theaters across the U.S. and Canada, before heading overseas to Australia, Japan and 15 European cities. Setting a precedent with New York’s legendary Beacon Theatre, “The Art of FLIGHT” will screen at a series of iconic performance spaces throughout the tour including Denver’s Ellie Caulkins Opera House, Boston’s Orpheum Theater, Minneapolis’ State Theater and Seattle’s McCaw Hall. The global screening tour will offer viewers the most premium way to experience “The Art of FLIGHT” using Dolby’s digital cinema package file including the Dolby Screen Server DSS200 and Dolby CP750 Cinema Sound Processor used in major theater chains. Athletes from the film will travel in style on Quiksilver’s bus throughout the tour for a chance to mix and mingle with fans.
Travis Rice lead a team of photographers, editors and designers to create The Art of FLIGHT book, an oversized, photo-driven book featuring the stunning images captured and exclusive stories made while filming “The Art of FLIGHT.” Published by Red Bull Media House, all 200 pages are printed on 100-pound silk finish paper using unparalleled printing techniques held between a Smythe sewn hardcover. The 5,000 limited edition books will include “The Art of FLIGHT” on both Blu-rayTM and DVD, be individually numbered with a hand stamp and sold in a luxurious collector’s edition box.
The Art of FLIGHT book will be available at all screening tour events, Quiksilver stores and online through asymbolgallery.com while supplies last.
