Mayrhofen/AUT—The Aesthtiker Jam — Waengl Taengl from 22ndto 25th of March 2007promises to be a season final full of action. With aprizemoney of US$ 30.000.- the slopestyle course will demand a variety oftechnical freestyle tricks from the 48 freestylers. On the starting list are bignames from the international contest scene like the TTR world champion MathieuCrepel (FRA), Marc-Andre Tarte (CAN) and Air&Style winner Travis Rice (USA).Austria’s freestyle elite with Stefan Gimpl (S), Steve Gruber (Nà–), Friedl Kolar (K)as well as the Tyrolean’s Sani Alibabic, Chris Kroell and Wolle Nyvelt will doeverything to bring the title to their home valley of the Zillertal. The action in thesnowpark on the Penken Mountain is followed by several freestyle activities inthe valley.
The Aesthetiker Jam being part of the TTR-world tour evolved over the years to one of the mostimportant winter events in Austria. ‘The Aesthetiker with their top-events contribute to a bigextent to the strong positioning of Mayrhofen as a snowboard center in the Alps’ sates Mag. Thanks to theeffort of the Aesthetiker and the Mayrhofner Bergbahnen the fifth edition of the Aesthtiker Jampromises to be carried out as planed. The basic park construction on the Penken/Mayrhofen isalready standing. The great show down end of March will be carried out in a unique contest parkwith a variety of kicker and rail lines. The winner of the biggest snowboard happening in Austriawill not only receive the desired trophy but also valuable TTR points, prize money and a SuzukiZ400 Quad Bike. The starter field consists this year again of well known international participants.Big names of the snowboard competition scene will meet upcoming newcomers. Besides the 38invited riders 10 wildcards are given out. The qualifying contest for the Aesthetiker Jam — WaenglTaengl, the Shred Down in Westendorf from 2nd to 3rd of March will be carried out as a railcontest.
The diversified freestyle flair will be carried on in the valley. An exclusive Red Bull streetskate parkis set up for the public. The art exhibition with the motto ‘No New Enemies’ unites sreetart withboardsports. Musically the Aesthetiker present a ‘Jà¤zz-Lounge’ with the ‘Supercity Soundsytemfeaturing the Waxsolutionists’.Leonhard Gruber, the à„sthetiker CEO sums up what the event is about: ‘In the last 10 years wehave set a standard with our events.
