Spring Season Pass pricing, Events Calendar and Operations Announced with Mt. Bachelor Springtacular

(Bend, OR – 3/7/11) With one of the longest winter seasons in North America, the “Mt. Bachelor Springtacular‟ will offer an array of new events along with the return of the spring season pass in celebration of the two-week season extension with resort operations open through May 29, 2011.

Mt. Bachelor President and General Manager Dave Rathbun exclaims “With over 430″ of snow to date, we‟re looking forward to continuing our tradition of providing what many of our guests refer to as the best spring conditions in the west and offering a longer ski season through the end of May. In addition to the continuation of the La Nina winter providing more powder days and an ample base for superb spring corn snow, look for exciting new events and concerts weekly through closing day!”

The spring season pass will be valid beginning Monday, April 4th through the end of the season, going on sale March 7th for $149. New this year, the spring season pass will include a „Kids Ski Free‟ component offering parents who purchase a spring pass before April 4th, 2011 one complimentary 18 and under spring season pass! After April 4th, spring season passes will be on sale the remainder of the extended season at the same $149 price for all ages. Spring pass holders will also receive exclusive discounts and specials at the best breweries, restaurants and sports shops in Bend and Sunriver by presenting their spring pass.

The Mt. Bachelor Springtacular will host a variety of events and activities to enhance the on-mountain experience throughout the spring season. Springtacular events include the always popular Big Air, North American Pond Skimming Championships and award winning Pine Parties, and will introduce new events such as the Big Wave Challenge, the Northwest Brewery „Brew-Ski‟ championships, multi-week Suds Cup race series, in addition to a May concert series and finale concert on closing day. The second session of this season‟s Charity Weeks will be held the first two weeks in April, offering $25 mid-week lift tickets with 100% of the proceeds benefitting area non-profit charity organizations.

Mt. Bachelor will be in full operation with all 3,683 acres open through Easter Sunday, April 24, 2011. Beginning April 25th, Mt. Bachelor will go to spring hours and operations with three high-speed lifts offering 360 degree access from the summit in addition to all 5 Bachelor Parks and half pipe. Lifts and lodges out of the West Village base area will be open daily from 9:00am to 2:00pm with lift tickets offered at $50 for a full day adult lift ticket. With over 2,000 acres of terrain and access from the highest resort peak in the Cascades, the spring season at Mt. Bachelor is unmatched in the realm of skiing and snowboarding.

Mt. Bachelor will also offer a wide variety of value-added lodging packages in the base communities of Bend and Sunriver through closing day. The popular Kids Ski Free packages will be available in addition to options unique to the Central Oregon spring environment starting with skiing during the day, followed by golf, rafting, fishing, climbing, or mountain biking in the afternoon and touring any of Bends 8 local craft breweries and award winning restaurants in the evening.
