Spring Magic at Squaw Valley USA kicks-off with the opening of the Lagoon & Spa this Saturday, March 17, 2007. The celebration continues through the spring with days on end of skiing, riding, and exciting outdoor events and parties.
The high altitude pool and hot tub offers skiers and riders a one-of-a-kind mountain experience. Only at Squaw Valley USA, “North America’s Spring Skiing Capital, can you cap off a day on the slopes with a dip in a mountaintop swimming pool and a soak in a giant slopeside jacuzzi. Located at High Camp, el. 8200′, the free-form swimming lagoon is heated to approximately eighty degrees and contains two twenty-five meter lap lanes. The twenty-five foot diameter spa is heated to a soothing 103 degrees and surrounded by expansive decks and a casual umbrella bar. Squaw Valley’s High Camp also offers an Olympic-size ice-skating pavilion, a 1960 Olympic Winter Games Museum and a variety of restaurants and bars to feed every appetite and quench every thirst.
Spring Magic continues through the end of the season with exhilarating events like Spring Bling, Squaw Valley’s inaugural spring break celebration. Over the weekend of April 13-15, Spring Bling brings a rail jam, a halfpipe competition, a big air exhibition, a pool party and fashion show, and the Spring Schwing on-snow golf tournament to Squaw Valley. Other spring events include Squaw Valley traditions, the Billy Dutton Uphill Race on April 8 and the beloved Cushing Classic pond crossing (date TBD).
