Heavenly Ski Resort, South Lake Tahoe, Calif./Nev. — Action-packed days, unforgettable nights, fun and sun … it’s spring break at Southshore Soldiers Snowboard Camp. The camp returns to Heavenly this March, offering snowboarders and skiers week-long sessions dedicated to improving their park, pipe and freeriding skills, while experiencing South Lake Tahoe’s legendary nightlife.
Created and directed by professional snowboarder Jimmy Halopoff, the Southshore Soldiers Snowboard Camp is firing back up for the month of March, with session beginning in less than two weeks. In addition to Halopoff, “soldiers” will also be treated to guest appearances by top-name professional snowboarders including Kevin Jones, Tara Dakides, Shaun Palmer, Andreas Wiig, Kyle Clancy, Danny Kass and the whole Grenade Crew, Stephen Duke, Robbie Sell, and the rest of the Santa Cruz team, and countless other pros. “The camp gives riders an authentic look at the lives of professional snowboarders, while staying true to the spring break traditions,” explains Halopoff. “Our soldiers get to experience the best of both worlds … the great snowboarding and skiing at Heavenly by day and a look into the nonstop nightlife of Stateline, Nevada.” One of last year’s standouts, Jeenyus pro rider Eddie Wall stated, “This is the first year of Jimmy’s camp and it’s as good or better than the camps at Mt. Hood that have been in operation for fifteen years. The jumps and rails are so perfect and everyone is there having such a good time.”
Southshore Soldiers is open to all levels of riders, 18 years-of-age and older. On-hill facilities include a private terrain park and halfpipe complete with jumps and rails of all shapes and sizes for all ability levels. Trained coaches use on-hill instruction and daily video analysis to improve the soldiers’ overall riding.
Off-hill, there are no limits to the legendary nightlife of Tahoe’s South Shore. Each session has private parties with live bands, a DJ, and the Southshore Soldiers private bowling party/product giveaway. Along with the parties, there is plenty more action, whether its dancing at Caesars’ Club Nero or Altitude, located inside Harrah’s, or playing it cool at the blackjack table, this is the ultimate spring break experience.
The Southshore Soldiers will be hosting four camp sessions:
March 3 — 8
March 10 — 15
