The SNOWMISSION is back again this year at Parc Mont-Comi in Quebec! Last year edition definitely proved to snowboarders and the snowboard industry how serious and quality driven the organization is. This year edition will receive around 7500 visitors and more then 100 snowboarders (men’s & women’s) to enter the competition. Always with one of the most impressive course, the SNOWMISSION crew came back again building a unique Rail Complex to satisfy the riders and to bring that street feeling to the mountain. This year will also introduce some airtime with a “Big air” jump. There will be tons of activities during the entire day, but our main feature will start at 5pm to reveal which snowboarders will take their skills to the grand finals. The competition will happen right in front of the main lodge and will be easily accessible for all spectators.
This event, considered one of the Canadian snowboard industry best kept secret will host professional snowboarders from Quebec, Ontario, New-Brunswick and western Canada. Many renowned riders have already confirmed their presence to this year event: Jason Dubois (2010 winner), Anto Chamberland (2009 winner), Charles Reid (2011 US Open Rail Jam winner), Ben Bilocq, Jess Kimura (2010 winner) and Phil Jacques, to name a few.
The event main program is totally free for all visitors and is meant to be THE Quebec snowboarding celebration with activities for all kind of riders. The 2012 demo village, the Burton Mini-Shred Zone and the appearance of an Airbag for riders to test any tricks they want are some examples of that statement.
Prizes and purses of this year edition are considerable. The men’s champion will leave with a new Polaris RMK 800 snowmobile! A 15 000$ value! The others winners between the men’s and women’s categories will split 15 000$ in cash purses.
The SNOWMISSION wouldn’t be without the traditional after party! Very special guests and phenomenal act Think About Life will kick off the party in the main lodge bar followed by Dj Funkyfalz to assure the musical ambiance until the wee hours.
