Snowboarding legends Peter Line, Bjorn Leines, Jeremy Jones and Dave Downing were on hand to sign autographs, hang out with fellow riders and check out the premieres of this season’s gnarliest snowboarding action.
The all-day event kicked off with the Vendor Fair from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. featuring great deals on snowboarding products from area shops such as Boards-N-Motion, Surf & Skate, Tahoe Dave’s and Mountain & Surf Pro Shop. Factory reps were practically giving away merchandise from companies like Burton, Elan and Quicksilver. Crowds were cashing in on the goods while grooving to the live music of five local bands.
All those adrenaline-starved riders descended on the multitude of awesome deals like winter worshippers who haven’t seen snow all winter. Imagine that? With the pros snaking through the massive crowds sharing tips and signing autographs it was easy to get psyched up for the season to come. The Get Your Fix Snowboard Film Premiere hit the stage at 7 p.m. and everyone who attended received a FREE all-day lift ticket to Sierra-at-Tahoe (a $52 value). With the auditorium bursting at the seams, three hard-hitting films pushed the audience to the pinnacle of snowboard fever.
Brainstorm by Kingpin Productions took riders to new heights, literally, with riders tackling superhuman gaps and jumps. TB10 Optigrab by Standard Films showcased some of the most extreme riders in the industry testing the limits of gravity with their all-mountain assault. The final film, True Life, featuring the Forum Team by Mack Dawg Productions, wet the appetites of young boarders observing what it takes to become a snowboarding legend.
