Snow Mission 2011
Rimouski Quebec, Canada (March 27, 2011) – Simon Reid started the engine on his brand new Polaris RMK 800 of a $15 000 value! On the women's side, Laurie Blouin went back with a cash purse of $2500, at the conclusion of the SNOWMISSION 6th edition.
The Reid brothers, Simon & Charles, and Jason Dubois, made it to the men's podium, while Tamara Truchon and Joanie Robichaud also podium for women's.
SNOWMISSION sixth edition wrapped up yesterday night with the Reid brothers victory. Simon Reid from Mont Tremblant is the proud winner of the Polaris RMK 800 snowmobile. His brother Charles took second place with winnings of $5 000. Jason Dubois, last year's edition winner, completed the podium. The best trick was awarded to Maxence Parrot with a backside double cork 1080 earning him $1000. He and Christopher Collard also went back home with envelopes for their fourth and fifth positions.
In the women category, Laurie Blouin, got up on the podium highest step leaving the contest $2500 richer. She shares second and third position with Tamara Truchon and Joanie Robichaud, rewarding them $1000 and $500 respectively. Tamara was also honored for her best trick during the competition.
The 2011 edition took place under the Mont Comi wintry weather and the crowd captive eyes. The creative course resulted in an explosive final. Also featured this year: over 15 snowboard companies showing up 2012's products with on-snow demo opportunities. More than 5,000 noisy people showed up to support the competitors. To conclude this amazing day a full house was waiting for Montreal's band Think About Life and a spectacular performance.
