What’s better than winning the Mathlympics or going a full week without getting shoved in a locker by a jock? The 13th annual SLUG Games at Brighton Resort on January 19! The nerds close their books, shut down their electronics, and head to the slopes to takeover a course customized just for them. This jam format amateur contest will feature giant jib protractors and calculators, helping the nerds to plot their revenge. The contest will include free registration so you can save your money and buy a new pocket protector. DJ Matty Mo will be there as well, spinning jams to keep everyone warm.
Spawned from the addled minds of SLUG Magazine, the SLUG Games has seen the likes of established pros such as Bode Merrill, Stevie Bell and Gabby Maiden, Ted Borland, Alex Andrews and Sean Black, among others. The series has made a name for itself among local riders by hosting a variety of themed amateur contests over the past 12 years, celebrating 13 this season.
Registration for Revenge of the Nerds begins in the Milly Lodge at Brighton Resort at 10 a.m. There is no registration fee, however, contestants must provide their own lift pass and equipment.
Visit thesluggames.com for updates and info on the second and final contest of the season, Winter Wizardry at Snowbasin, on March 16, 2013.
SLUG Games Revenge of the Nerds is presented by Scion, Unita Brewing and Busch Beer and sponsored by Boro Syndicate, Discrete, Milo, Niche Snowboards, RAMP, Saga, Salty Peaks and Spedelli’s.
