Snowshoe, W VA—Snowshoe Mountain, the Southeast’s largest winter resort, will open its Silver Creek Ski Area on Friday, December 15, along with night skiing and snow tubing. With 17 runs already open at the Snowshoe Ski Area, nine additional runs are expected to open at Silver Creek on Friday. Snowshoe’s more than 78 acres of open terrain provides the most available terrain in the region for skiers and snowboarders.

At least nine trails and three lifts will open at the Silver Creek area, including the Mountaineer Terrain Park and the Ruckus Ridge Tubing Hill with five lanes. Silver Creek is also providing nighttime activities for winter enthusiasts looking to spend more time out on the slopes. The Freedom Lift Ticket allows skiers and riders to stay on the slopes at Silver Creek from 9:00 a.m. until 9 p.m. daily. The Ruckus Ridge Tubing Hill operates daily from 1-9 p.m.

Silver Creek is not the only thing opening at Snowshoe Mountain. The new 140-unit luxury condo complex, Soaring Eagle Lodge is open for business in the resort’s South Mountain Area. Inside, Snowshoe’s newest gourmet restaurant, Ember, opened to rave reviews and has been offering a unique urban dining experience to the resort’s visitors for over a week. The mountain’s newest baby, a high-speed quad lift named Soaring Eagle Express, is expected to begin flying within a week.
