ROXY CHICKADEE JAM SET TO TAKE PLACE AT GROUSE MOUNTAIN
All girls snowboard contest will send one deserving competitor to the Roxy Chicken Jam in Mammoth, CA.
Vancouver, British Columbia (January 9, 2009) – Roxy is excited to introduce the first annual RoxyChickadee Jam,an all girls snowboard contest. The event will take place on March 1st, 2009 at Vancouver’s infamous Grouse Mountain and boast $5000 in cash and prizes. The winner of the Roxy Chickadee Jam will walk away with $1000 cash and the opportunity to showcase her talent at the 5th Annual Roxy Chicken Jam in Mammoth, California.
There will be PRO and AM categories at the Roxy Chickadee Jam so that all levels of riding can participate. Those wanting to step it up to win the cash and trip can register in the PRO category. Girls who just want to have fun, win prizes and see what the Roxy Chickadee Jam is all about, can register in the AM category. The day will encourage all females to come out for a day of riding, fun and special giveaways from Roxy.

Roxy is also excited to invite three female snowboarders from the MGT Academy to compete at the Roxy Chickadee Jam. These special competitors have been selected at MGT Snowboard Camp and will compete in the PRO category. The MGT Academy is a program designed to develop female riders looking for a career in snowboarding.
About the Roxy Chicken Jam:
Launched in 2004, the Roxy Chicken Jams are the first and most prestigious stand-alone all-girls pro snowboarding events in the world. By bringing together the best riders, the best resorts and some of the biggest prize purses in women’s professional snowboarding, Roxy fosters greater exposure and a higher level of competition for the sport and its riders.
Each snowboard season features two Jams: one in North America at Mammoth Mountain, and a European event held in Kitzsteinhorn, Austria. Thirty riders compete in a qualifying session the first day, five of which will advance to compete alongside the top 25 female riders in the world for the $50,000 prize purse. The Roxy Chicken Jam in Austria runs December 12-14, 2008, while the event in the United States runs March 27-29, 2009, crowning the TTR Women’s World Champion. The US event also features a huge free concert in Mammoth Village and will again have the Mascot Superpipe competition.
