ROME COMMUNIQUE:THE SDS LAUNCHES THE 04-05 SITE8.21.2004
If you can’t hit Hood, Europe or the Southern Hemisphere in mid August, the best way to get your shred on (or at least pretend to) is by visiting snowboarding websites and thinking about it.
One such place to get your imaginary shred on is the new site 04-05 site from the Rome SDS, which launched last night—www.romesnowboards.com.
Equipped with deeper levels of tech about the ’05 product line, an enhanced rider video section, additional team info, tons-o-photos, more propaganda, and many other new features, the site is fully informative, interactive, and, well, just damn pretty to look at.
New features on the site include the “Famous section of the Syndicate page, where riders can send in photos and video clips to be posted on the site to impress friends, girlfriends, lifties, and local shop owners. Just email them into firstname.lastname@example.org. Another new part of the Syndicate page is the “Design Contest, where riders can design things like custom die-cuts and t-shirts—Rome will handle making them for the winner.
For eye-candy, the new Visuals page has more video clips than a free porn site, as well as regularly updated rider and lifestyle photos. And be sure to check out Jesse Fox’s short video “Hydrant, which will surely be recognized as one the year’s most ultra-technical shredding parts. Awesome soundtrack, technical hydrant gap…an all-around great video from the mind of Fox.
Most importantly is the Product section—all the new board info, including close-up views of the new art, detailed tech-talk, and terrain mapping; all the glove and bag tech; and all the apparel and accessories.
And if you need some propaganda, you can download all the new posters, check out ads or order up a catalog with free sticker.
Thanks for listening.
Loud, Fast, Rome SDS
