Swiss uber pro Reto Lamm popped into Colorado yesterday for a cat-boarding romp with Steamboat Powdercat Tours. Railing through Buffalo Mountain’s aspens and open, snow mushroom-filled bowls also served as an introduction to Rad Air snowboards’ 2001 product line.

Reto’s sponsor since the early nineties, Rad Air has a long history in Europe. In addition to Reto, who’s one of Switzerland’s best-known snowboarders, the Rad Air team includes “Kiwi” Maeir (organizer of the Crystal Awards), legendary ruler Micki Fruh, and Dani Sappa, who’s getting big now.

Among the boards on hand in Steamboat were Reto’s 163 cm. signature ride (complete with temperature sensitive base graphics), and Rad Air’s trademark Tanker models¿long, but easy to turn.

Weather permitting, Reto will be heading out of Hayden’s airport (near Steamboat) today, trying to get to the Mt. Baker Banked Slalom in northern Washington state. He’ll be back in Colorado for an Imax movie shoot in March.
